양평군 개군면,

흑천(黑川)이 북한강이 되기 전 마지막으로 지나는 마을.

사람들의 손길이 덜 미친 이 곳은 시골 양평 그대로의 모습을 담고 있다.

앞으로는 흑천의 물이 떨어지며 물의 흐름과 파동을 만들어내는 소리가 잔잔히 들려오고

낮은 건물과 산들이 즐비하여 높은 하늘을 마음껏 감상할 수 있는 곳.

이 작은 마을에 어느 한 작가의 꿈을 담은 카페가 자리한다.

본인이 날 때부터 자란 곳,

아버지께서 직접 올리신 오래된 건물,

긴 시간 이어져온 녹슨 구조물과 세월의 흔적이 남아 있는 콘크리트 벽

그리고 시간이 빚어낸 거친 질감의 마감재가 남아 있는 이 곳.

이 곳의 탄생부터 현재까지의 역사를 담아낸 이야기가 건물에 켜켜히 쌓여있다.

따스한 햇살과 바람의 맛을 느끼고 잔잔히 흐르는 물의 소리를 들을 수 있는 이곳의 ‘장소성’

찾아오는 이들의 ‘편안한 쉼’의 공간이 되었으면 하는 ‘브랜드의 정체성’

오래된 건물이 가진 시간을 훼손하지 않는 범위 내에서 새로이 숨을 불어넣기 위한 ‘시대성’

을 중심으로 클라이언트의 바램을 공유하고 싶은 공간이 되길 바랬다.

영어지락 (泳漁之樂)

물 속에서 자유로이 헤엄치는 물고기의 즐거움.

그 모습이 즐거워 보이는 이유는 자연에 속해져 자유롭게

그 아름다움을 온전히 즐기는 것에서나오기 때문이다.

자유롭게 헤엄치는 물고기의 유영 (遊泳),

자연 속에 속하여 주변의 자연 그대로를 즐기는 온전한 물화 (物化)

그러한 유영과 물화 속 따듯한 햇살과 잔잔한 물의 파동과 잔잔한 흐름,

시원한 바람을 맡고 느끼는 오감 (五感)

이 곳을 들리는 모든 이들이 마치 앞에서 흐르고 있는 흑천(黑川)의 한마리 물고기가 된 듯

이 작은 장소에 담겨있는 모든 요소와 공간의 구성을 보며 느린 걸음으로

자유롭게 유영하며 깊이 사유할 수 있는 여유로운 걸음을 담고자 하였다.

오래된 구조물 속 천장의 흑색 천은 앞에 잔잔히 흐르는 흑천(黑川)을

또 다른 시각적 언어로 표현하며

검은 천들의 투시성을 통해 타 사용자들의 그림자가 보여지고

그로 인해 호기심을 일으키는 역동적인 공간이 된다.

공간을 따라 걷다 보면 Reflection 되는 벽체의 흑색 거울은 실재의 물상과 존재하지 않는

허상의 객체를 생성하여 바라보는 이들에게 공간을 더욱 더 깊게 이끌어준다

그 안을 유영 하듯 느리게 걸어가며 자신 뿐 아니라

서로에게 천천히 스며드는 것을 바라보고, 자신의 행동이 타인에게 경험을 줄 수 있는.

허(虛)와 실(實) 사이에 여기에 들린 모든 이들이 주인공이 되어

자리하고 있는 ‘감성적 공간’주체가 명확하지 않은,

야말로 행위 자체가 조화가 되어 만들어지는 공간을 생각하며 그렸다.

2층에 올라가면, 조용하고 정제 되어있는 하얀 자갈들과 그 사이사이 놓여있는

큰 돌들을 주변으로 좌석이 형성되어 조용하게 바라보는 공간이다.

그와는 대조적으로 바깥으로 나가면 주변 풍경을 바라 볼 수 있는 탁 트인 시선과 푸른 하늘

그리고 외부에 위치한 흑천(黑川)의 물방울이 떨어지며 내는 물의 파동과 흐름의 소리와 함께

외부의 풍경에서는 금속의 차가운 마찰음과 함께 청아한 소리가 울려 퍼지며

바람과 물의 언어를 대신해준다.

여유롭게 걸어 다니는 조용한 공간 속에 머물며 감성적인 경험과

창 밖에 보이는 작은 마을의 따스한 햇살과 바람, 그리고 물의 소리를 들으며

복잡하고 지친 일상 속 쉼의 의미를 재정의하고 되새기며 편안한 안식을 주는

공간이길 바랍니다.

Located in Gaegun-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun,

this village is the last stop of the Heukcheon stream before it becomes part of the Bukhan River.
Less touched by human hands, the area preserves the authentic rural atmosphere of Yangpyeong.
The sound of flowing and falling water can be heard gently in the background, and the low-rise buildings and nearby mountains allow an open view of the sky.
In this small village stands a café filled with the dreams of one artist.

This is where the owner was born and raised, in an old building constructed by their father.
Aged structures, rusted steel, and timeworn concrete walls remain, layered with stories from the past to present.
The space captures the warmth of sunlight, the scent of the breeze, and the sound of quiet water — all key to the sense of place.
It reflects the brand identity as a space for “peaceful rest” and introduces new vitality without erasing the traces of time — a design built on sensitivity to the era.

Yeong-eo-ji-rak (泳漁之樂) — the joy of a fish swimming freely.
Its happiness lies in being a part of nature, immersed in the environment and able to fully enjoy it.

The natural swimming motion of a fish, the embodiment of nature, the warmth of sunlight, the gentle wave and ripple of water, and the cool breeze —
All of these elements come together to allow every visitor to experience the space like a fish in the Heukcheon stream.
With each step, one swims slowly through the thoughtfully arranged space, with time to reflect.

The black fabric ceiling reflects the flowing stream through a new visual language.
Its translucency reveals silhouettes of others moving above, creating a dynamic spatial curiosity.
The mirrored black walls reflect both reality and illusion, deepening the viewer’s immersion in the experience.

As visitors walk through the space, slowly and gently as if swimming, they observe both themselves and others —
A space where actions and presence create a shared emotional narrative.
This is a place where everyone becomes the protagonist in a spatial harmony of presence and absence, substance and void.

On the second floor, white pebbles and large stones are scattered between seats, providing a calm, meditative space.
In contrast, stepping outside opens up a panoramic view of the landscape and sky.

Water droplets from the Heukcheon stream hit the surface, creating soothing ripples, accompanied by the clear metallic sound of water, wind, and air —
a sensory language that resonates through the space.

This tranquil environment offers an emotional experience —
a place to slowly walk, reflect, feel the warmth of sunlight, hear the flowing water, and rediscover the meaning of rest amidst a busy, tiring life.

파동 [ 波動 ] : 물고기가 헤엄치며 흑천(黑川)의 수면 아래와 위를 반복하며 내는

물의 파동이 잔잔히 일렁이다.

Ripple : As the fish swims, gentle ripples stir upon the surface of the dark river, repeating with each pass above and below.
